Take it with a Grain of Rice is supposed to be taken with a grain of rice [salt]. The piece is an experimental "found sounds" piece, using different types of metal (bowl and tin), and the percussive elements of rice. It explores unique attributes heard regularly but unexpectedly in music. With a suspenseful beginning and end, the sounds dramatize the light-hearted variations of the melody in the middle.
